Today is “National Chopstick Day” and we decided to celebrate by enjoying some Chinese cuisine.
We started by learning about how chopsticks are made. It’s a pretty neat little process and the kids enjoyed watching several different videos on it.
We also watched a few videos that “teach” you to use chopsticks properly. I don’t think they were very good teachers, though. 😉
*Did you know???*
80 Billion pairs of chopsticks are used in China every year.
We decided to make our own eggrolls.
We’ve done this several times before but this was the first time the girls got to make them all by themselves.
It was also the first time we’d ever used these noodles. We usually use “potato noodles” but I like these WAY better!
For dinner, we made some noodles to go with our eggrolls.
We attempted to eat them only using chopsticks but Steven was the only one who could successfully feed himself, so we all grabbed our forks and dug in.
Even this old lady got to join in on the fun today!
We love hanging with Grandma!
