Remembering the Oklahoma City Bombing

Today marks 20 years since the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

We took a few moments this morning to watch some video clips and footage from that awful day.

We took this opportunity with the kids to discuss terrorism, why some people have such hate towards our government and why we should always be sure to tell our family that we love them.

You just never know.

That day, 168 people lost their life, while almost 700 others were severely injured.

Parents dropped their kids off at daycare, in a rush to get to work on time and they never saw them again.

Families were destroyed. Husbands went to bed that night as widowers and mothers went to bed without tucking their children in.

Lives were lost and our country was shaken.

Thankfully, we live in a country where we feel safe, protected and comfortable on most days.

{That is not something to be taken for granted.}

Hug your kids a little tighter today, tell your husband how much you love him and ring up your mama to remind her that she still means the world to you.

Tomorrow is never promised.
