Easter Fun

Easter weekend was a whirl of fun activities and family time.

We started the weekend by dying Easter eggs on Friday night.

We invited my parents, Steven’s parents and my mom’s aunt to join us.

I love bringing our families together to make memories with the kids!

Bear got more dye on his hands than he did on the egg!
He wanted Grandpa to help him dry it.

A great time with both sets of grandparents.

Friday was the first day of my Mother-in-Law’s retirement! We are excited to start seeing more of her, now that she’ll be home all day.

Somehow, these crazies got it into their heads that an egg toss would be fun.

Thankfully, they grabbed the hard boiled eggs. 🙂
Even Bear had to get in on the fun with Grandpa.

Saturday, we had Easter with Steven’s family. He had to work, so me and the kids went without him.

After a big lunch, we got started on the Easter egg hunt.

Natali was still “tired’ from her soccer game that morning, so she only helped Bear hunt eggs. (I guess that’s her way of saying she is too old to participate. BOO!) 😦

Barrett and Grandpa Jordon

The kids’ cousin got a bunny for Easter, so of course, everyone had to snuggle it! I think Bear was slightly scared of it, once he had it on his lap.

Saturday night we had a bonfire with my parents.  While they were there, Barrett helped Grandpa feed the cows. Loved these pics, so I had to share!

Bear LOVES his red bucket. My dad has an identical bucket that he uses to feed his cows grain. Lucky for Bear, Grandpa always grabs Bear and lets him help feed the cow. Barrett carries his own bucket all over the yard, waiting for Grandpa to come everyday.

Real farmers eat out of the cow trough, right?

And of course, we had to get a few shots on Easter morning.
My little chef was so thrilled with her apron and hat that she quickly forgot everything else in her Easter basket.

Natali has been asking for some Razorback earrings for a while now, so they were the perfect addition to her basket.

The bed-head was a tell-tale sign of the rush to get to her Easter basket.

We attended another egg hunt on Easter day but it was raining so I didn’t take any pics.

We finished the day with a few board games and snuggling up on the couch to watch a couple of movies.

Perfect ending to the perfect weekend.

A boy and his Grandpa

A little known fact:

Bear’s first word was “bucket.”

Not “Mamma,” or “Daddy” or even “poop.”

Just “bucket.”

Why on earth would a boy say “bucket” before truck or book?

Well, this is why:

His Grandpa comes everyday to feed his cows that are at our house and he brings the grain in a red bucket. Bear loved that bucket so much that my mom even bought him one, just his size. He carries that thing around a lot.

It just melts my heart to see my little man waiting anxiously for Grandpa to come and see him, every day.

The pic below is of Bear, waiting patiently at the gate for his Grandpa. I love it.

When it comes to grandparents, my kids hit the jackpot.
